Abstract
Health promotion predicts the involvement of all healthcare actors in order to be protagonists and active participants of concretization and continuity of care. It brings a new perspective that involves political, social, ethical, cultural and spiritual aspects to ensure universal, equitable and integral health. The effective and efficient implementation of health promotion policy in primary care comprises changes of conduct in the treatment of users considering health determinants to reach the integral care. This work aimed to evaluate the health professional’s knowledge about National Policy of Health Promotion (NPHP) and to comprehend its implementation. This is a qualitative research carried out in Basic Health Units of Benevides municipality, located in State of Pará. We performed a content analysis of interviews with health professionals of those Units. Our findings showed that the implementation of NPHP occurs in diffuse and decentralized way by protagonists and participants of that policy. Besides we observed a correlation between the knowledge about NPHP and satisfactory working process of equip in the context of health promotion and structure of assistance. The reestablishment of professional conduct, management decision-making aligned to the knowledge democratization and the capillarization of NPHP still run into many challenges to be overcome by all workers of Health System.
