NATO-Colombia military cooperation: recent rapprochement and redefinition of the Colombian Armed Forces in the post-conflict

Abstract
The present article has as its objective to comprehend the o evolution of the relations between Colombia and NATO until the signature of the IPCP Agreement and the reason to this earlier rapprochement, assessing in this way the real dimensions and the potential results of this process. The work states that this approximation is inserted within a context of redefinition of the Colombian Armed Forces acting in the post-conflict, that it has been having a greater regional and international actuation, through the support, respectively, of the United States and the UN. In that way, the Colombian government has been searching to utilize the cooperation with NATO to support both the military reform, and the international actuation of the Armed Forces.
