A Review on Network Intrusion Detection System
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGY - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 9
Abstract
Internet and computer networks are exposed to an increasing number of security threats. For new types of attacks are emerging constantly, developing flexibility and adaptability safety-oriented approaches is a serious problem. In this context, the anomaly based network Intrusion detection techniques are valuable technology to protect the target systems and networks against malicious activities. However, despite a number of these methods described in the literature in recent years, security tools comprising detecting anomalies function is only beginning to emerge, and several important issues remain to be solved. This paper begins with the review of the best-known anomaly-based intrusion detection techniques. Then the available platforms, systems development and research projects are presented. Finally, the main issues are addressed for large deployments, anomaly based detectors disruption, with special emphasis on the evaluation questions.

An Empirical Model of Network Traffic Classification for Identifying Anonymous Behavior
Optimizing the internet traffic is always an important research issue in the field of network traffic classification, although various approaches available for minimizing the traffic over heads during the network traffic...
Studies on Emission Control in S.I. Engine Using Organic Fuel Additives
Alternative fuels provide huge rural employment, and reduce the dependency on fossil fuels, which are renewable, eco-friendly and help to preserve the atmosphere. The gaseous forms of alternative fuels are LPG, CNG, H2,...
An Approach to Color Image enhancement Using Modified Histogram
Image enhancement is one of the key issues in high quality pictures such as digital camera and HDTV. Since Image clarity is very easily affected by lighting, weather, or equipment that has been used to capture the...
Improvement Tracking Dynamic Programming using Replication Function for Continuous Sign Language Recognition
In this paper we used a Replication Function (R. F.) for improvement tracking with dynamic programming. The R. F. transforms values of gray level [0 255] to [0 1]. The resulting images of R. F. are more striking and visi...
Image Enhancement Using Adaptive Filtering
In this paper, we develop an image enhancement algorithm that modifies the local luminance mean of an image and controls the local contrast as a function of the local luminance mean of the image. The algorithm first sepa...
