COLD LATERAL CONDENSATION - "GOLD STANDARD" IN ENDODONTICS

Abstract
On an urgency and complexity the problem of diagnostics and treatment of chronic forms of a pulpitis is one of main in therapeutic stomatology. The reasons of high prevalence of chronic pulpitis can be much: a high caries incidence of our population, late negotiability, pathological fear before stomatologic intervention etc. Obturation of the root canal is an important stage in endodontic treatment, which ensures dense filling of its cavity and additional branches with sealing materials in order to isolate periodontium and dental cavity, treats periapical centers of chronic inflammations and creates natural biological barrier. Sealing of root canals prevents intrusion of periapical exudate into the root canal. Sealing of the canal prevents secondary infection and creates favorable biological environment for healing periodontal tissue. The special attention was given to way of a seals up of root channels using lateral condensation, because this method possesses big authority and long time was «the Gold standard» in an endodontics, and still many doctors use this method in the practice. Currently, active research is performed in order to find new materials for root canal system. The main accent is made on composite materials, which include radiopaque components in its structure. Three patients about the diagnosis a chronic fibrous pulpitis were clinically surveyed and cured. For an obturation of the root canal by method of lateral condensation was used various sealers. Subsequently we assess the quality and effectiveness of treatment. But, however, in the near future, likely, isn’t expected discoverings of any alternative for gutta-percha, which will be able to compete with it in practicality and in the cost-quality relation. Therefore, in the coming years gutta-percha will remain universal material for obturation of root canals in performing of endodontic treatment.
