Data mining Application to Design a System forPerformance Improvisation of Students in TheirAcademic Studies
Journal Title: International Journal of Computer Science Engineering and Technology (IJCSET) - Year 2012, Vol 2, Issue 9
Abstract
This paper presents a system that can be used fora performance improvisation of students in their academicstudies. The system accumulates a vast amount of informationwhich is very valuable for analyzing the student’sperformance and could create a gold mine of educational data.Data generated by the student and tutor is recorded in thissystem. However, due to the large quantity of data dailygenerated by the ssystem, it is very difficult to analyze thisdata manually. A very promising approach towards thisanalysis objective is the use of data mining techniques. This system help tutors to provide the study material relatedto the topic. The outcome of the result indicates that somestudents are good in subject or topic but some are really poorand need the help to improve in it. Using this system we cansuggest Admin to necessarily concentrate on these studentsand to appoint experts in these subjects for teaching orpreparing better study material than present.Data mining is a tool that can extract predictive informationfrom large quantities of data, and is data driven. It usesmathematical and statistical calculations to uncover trendsand correlations among the large quantities of data stored in adatabase. Data mining started with statistics. Statisticalfunctions such as standard deviation, regression analysis, andvariance are all valuable tools that allow people to study thereliability and relationships between data. Much of what datamining does is rooted in statistics, making it one of thecornerstones of data mining technology.

A Novel Sparse Representation Method for Image Restoration Applications
Sparse representation has been widely used in various image restoration applications. The quality of image restoration mainly depends on whether the used sparse domain can represent well the underlying image. Since...
