Different priming treatments affected germination traits of safflower

Journal Title: Applied Science Reports - Year 2013, Vol 2, Issue 1

Abstract

In order to evaluation the effect of priming treatment on safflower germination traits, the study, was conducted as completed randomized design with four replications. Treatments included the six priming treatments (50 ppm SA, 100 ppm SA, 50 ppm AsA, 100 ppm AsA, hydro-priming and control). Result showed that, the highest shoot length was 5.88 cm for 50 ppm SA treatment and the lowest length was 2.05 cm that attributed to ASA100 treatment. The highest seedling shoot weight was 11.88 mg for SA50 treatment and the lowest seedling length was 2.12 mg that attributed to ASA100 treatment. The highest (10.44 seedlings a day) and lowest (3.22 seedlings a day) emergence rates were observed in SA50 and control treatments, respectively.
