Diffusion of ecological innovations in construction. Commercial real estate market in OECD countries

Abstract
In early years of XXI century we observed increasing importance of sustainable development in construction industry and property market practices across the world. Key factors were: (1) emergence and development of institutions that promote multicriteria building evaluation frameworks, (2) increasing share of green buildings in new supply on a commercial property market in OECD. In the article we discuss institutional framework for green innovation diffusion on property market. We analyze dynamics and spatial context of green buildings investment on the property market in the world. In the analysis we use number of projects registered in LEED certification schemes as a proxy for diffusion of green buildings across the world.
