Effect of natural amendments as combined withdifferent npk fertilization combinations on nutrients content of wheat plant and sandy soil properties

Journal Title: Scientia Agriculturae - Year 2016, Vol 13, Issue 3

Abstract

A field successive experiment was carried out employing sandy soil to clarify the role of natural soil amendments and different levels of N, P and K fertilization on nutrients content of wheat (Triticumaestivum L., cv Sakha 69) crop and sandy soil properties. The experiment was carried out to evaluate the effect of compost and bentonite as combined with different nitrogen and phosphorus fertilization combinations on corn plants. Each amendment was added to soil at a rate of 5 ton fed-1 in combination with three levels of N (80, 120 and 160 kg fed-1) were combined with three levels of P2O5 (15, 30 and 45 kg fed-1) and two levels of K2O (24 and 48 kg fed-1).Increasing N fertilization level increased content of N and P and, to some extent, K and Ca while that of Mg seemed to be not affected under no amended condition. Addition of amendment continued to prove the positive response of N content but disappeared any response for other nutrients. As well as, increasing P fertilization level resulted in effects similar to that of increasing N fertilization on nutrients with K seemed to be not affected under no amended condition. Addition of amendments generally decreased the action of increasing P fertilization level on the status of all nutrients. Increasing K fertilization level didn’t significantly affect nutrient content under all amendment conditions. Regarding N-P interaction, increasing N fertilization level increased N and P content when P fertilization level increased under any amendment condition. Opposite to that in corn, K content in wheat plants was positively responded to the N-P synergism whereas increasing levels of both combined nutrients, N and P, increased significantly K content. Soil amendments, particularly compost, caused a great acceleration in response of plants fertilized with 120 kg N + 45 kg P2O5/ fed. N-P synergism failed generally to affect Mg and, to a great extent, Ca contents, where increasing P fertilization level needed the highest N fertilization one to positively influence Ca content. Soil amendments particularly bentonite generally enhanced the appearance of the positive response of Ca content by the N-P synergism. Regarding N-K interaction, increasing N fertilization increased N content under any level of K fertilization. Contents of P, K and Ca opposite to Mg needed 160 kg N/fed to be increased. Soil amendments reduced soil pH, response to compost addition was more pronounced than to bentonite. The EC of the soil was increased in the bentonite treatment than in compost. the superiority of compost as a source for nutrients (N, P and K) which values increased after wheat harvest.
