Evolution of the Electric Power Components Definitions
Journal Title: ANALELE UNIVERSITATII DIN CRAIOVA - Seria Inginerie electrica - Year 2015, Vol 39, Issue 39
Abstract
This paper contains a review of the scientific literature published till date in the field of power theory for systems with periodic non-sinusoidal waveforms. Dynamic increase in the number of installed nonlinear loads, that are the sources of higher harmonics in current and voltage waveforms, results in deterioration of electrical energy parameters. Higher harmonics lead to corrupted current and voltage waveforms, hence a much worsened energy quality. The number of power theories and papers concerning these issues give evidence about the importance of the problems of working condition optimisation in power systems.

A Geometrical and Numerical Study of the Main Sizes of the Lotka-Volterra Models
The blend of geometry and numerical analysis that is taking place in the present material produces a subject with can gives a lots of detail and richness for the case of dynamical models arising in mathematics, scienc...
GEOMETRY OPTIMIZATION OF SMES COIL
Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage (SMES) device is an attractive solution for energy storage. Because the most important element of SMES system is toroidal superconducting coil, the cryogenic technology involved in...
COMPARATIVE ACTIVE CURRENT CALCULATION BY p-q AND CPC THEORIES
This paper studies the possibilities of decomposition of the current in three-phase, three-wire systems based on the classic p-q theory proposed by Akagi and further developed and, respectively, on the Czarnecki’s theory...
Finite Volume Method for Electrostatic Problems
In this paper, we examine the problem of determinining the electrostatic potential distribution and field intensity vector in the high voltage divider and around the power line support. The potential is defined as the so...
Use of Modern Computing Technique to Improve the Energy Indicators of Drive Motors of the Coal Mills
In this paper, the authors present a study on the energetic opportunity to replace derated motors of the five mills which are in service at a power plant with other motors by a rated power closer to the actual load...
