Identifying environmental and health implication of gas flaring in Niger Delta, Nigeria.

Abstract

 Since discovery of oil in Niger Delta, the exploration and exploitation have caused severe environmental and health risks through burning of crude oil’s associated gas. These human activities led to environmental degradation and biodiversity depletion in the region. As problems have become more complicated, it requires more holistic measures that consider the origins and sources. Literature searches was conducted to outline briefly how this processes contribute to the risks of inhabitant live advisedly and suggest institutional and legitimate solution to reduce the severity.
