Journal Title: Zarządzanie i Finanse - Year 2013, Vol 11, Issue 3

Abstract

Presence of a company on Stock Exchange is not only a source of prestige and capital, but it also causes some mandatory actions for issuers. One of them is an obligation for transmitting and updating relevant information about the company. This applies not only to the company itself, but also to people who are closely related (like CEOs, members of Board of Directors, supervisors) - the insiders. They are required to inform KNF and the issuer about transactions which they have made on the shares of the company. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of such statements on company's share prices using the event studies method. Author has examined the companies listed on the Stock Exchange in Warsaw which were included in the WIG index. Test period was the year 2012.
