Integrated Solid Waste Management-An Innovative Approach

Abstract

Now a day’s Municipal Solid waste management (MSWM) has become an important problem due to enhanced economic activities and rapid urbanization. Solid waste, which is a concern of day-to-day activity of human kind, needs to be accomplished properly. The people from different sectors are face various problems associated with ailing managed solid waste operation. Increased attention has been given by the government in recent years to handle this problem in a safe and clean manner. Major cities do not collect the totality of wastes generated, and of the wastes collected, only a fraction receives proper disposal. The insufficient collection and inappropriate disposal of solid wastes represent a source of water, land and air pollution, and pose risks to human health and the environment. Solid waste management is characterized by incompetent collection methods, inadequate treatment of the collection system and indecorous disposal. An integrated planning and capacity building is required backed by financial support to control the condition. Life cycle assessment, categorization, recycling and reduction in all types of wastes and proper land filling are required. In this review article proposes a conversation about solid waste types, their major Impact on Human Health systems and the Environmental protection, structure of integrated solid waste and Solid Waste Management Policy system
