INTERDISCIPLINARITY IN PRIMARY SCHOOL CYCLE AS A FORM OF COOPERATION BETWEEN GEOGRAPHY AND OTHER SCHOOL SUBJECTS

Abstract

The interdiscipline represents a problem which is very much emphasized by the reform of the romanian education, because it assures to the students a general image of the reality over the primary school, an important opening of knowledge, developing their imagination, creativity, the power of choice and achievement the link between notions from different disciplines, including geography. Only the simple presence of the geography notions in some schoolbooks (not taking into account the geography manual, the 6-th grade) from each year of study, even the romanian literature or mathematics so on, may lead to a inerdisciplined approach if the geographical information is capitalized by the teacher, according to the solid general acknowledgement, doubled by a psychopedagogic one. But, another way of interdiscipline is the succesfull application of the geographic information during the lessons of different teaching disciplines (romanian literature, history, practical abilities so on) according to the school programmes, where they allow, as a practical solution to teach and learn geography. On the other hand, the optional as part of the CDS, may be constituted as a larger and clearer form of interdiscipline, a way in which the geography notions interpenetrates with others, from other disciplines of the primary school, stimulating the student’s intelectual processes, emphazising the formative character of the teaching process.
