Investigation of relationship between yield and dependent traits on yield in two group maturity of soybean by path analysis
Journal Title: Scientia Agriculturae - Year 2015, Vol 12, Issue 2
Abstract
In order to investigation of relationship between effective traits on seed yield of soybean, an experiment was conducted as randomized complete block design with three replications at Agricultural Research Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Guilan in 2009. The experimental treatment was included seven soybean cultivars, namely 033, 032, Sahar (belong to group maturity IV), L.17, Zan, Clark and Madari (belong to group maturity III). The studied traits were included No. of pods per plant, No. of seeds per pod, 1000 seed weight, plant dry weight, weight of seeds per plant, No. of seeds per plant, oil and protein content, harvest index, seed and biological yield. Simple correlation between traits, stepwise regression and path analysis were carried out in group maturity singly. The results showed high correlation between seed yield and biological yield in group maturity IV and high correlation between seed yield and weight of seeds per plant, biological yield and plant dry weight in group maturity III and stepwise regression showed that these traits covered the most total of yield variations. The results of path analysis showed that in group maturity IV biological yield (r=1.04) and in group maturity III weight of seeds per plant (r=0.80) had the most direct effect on seed yield. In general according to the results, these traits can be considered as an important factor in determining the soybean seed yield and can use these to increase soybean seed yield.
