MODERN TRENDS IN FOREIGN TRADE ACTIVITY OF UKRAINE AND DIRECTIONS OF ITS IMPROVEMENT

Abstract
The article shows that in our difficult time the foreign trade activity is not only one of the decisive factors of economic growth of the country, but also it is increasingly becoming as one of the main factors of national security of Ukraine. The improving of the efficiency of foreign trade activity is an urgent and important task, especially due to the new positioning of Ukraine as an associate member of the EU. The purpose of the article is the analysis of current trends in the foreign trade activity of Ukraine and the development of scientific and practical recommendations aimed for its improvement in the context of European integration processes’ deepening. The subject of the research is the directions of improvement of foreign trade activity of Ukraine in the modern world. In the research we have used a number of general and special methods of investigation of the processes and events in their interrelation and development. For example, a systematic approach, method of analysis and synthesis, statistical methods. The analysis of current trends in the foreign trade of Ukraine has been done, the commodity structure of exports and imports has been considered, and their imperfection and the necessity of the radical overhaul have been proved in the article. The factors that contribute to low efficiency of Ukrainian foreign trade and have a negative impact on national economic growth have been defined. In the result of our research we can conclude that the integration of Ukrainian economy into the global, in particular, European, economic area is still based on the script of "the raw appendage" and the exporter of cheap labor force. The analysis of Ukrainian foreign economic activity revealed the imbalances that had a stable negative trend. On the base of this analysis, the scientific and practical recommendations aimed at improving of Ukrainian foreign trade activity have been offered. These recommendations can be used in the development of long-term government programs improving Ukrainian foreign economic activity.
