On the applicability of multi-surface, two-surface and non-linear kinematic hardening models in multiaxial fatigue
Journal Title: Frattura ed Integrità Strutturale - Year 2015, Vol 9, Issue 33
Abstract
In this work, a comparison between NLK and Mróz-Garud’s multi-surface formulations is presented. A unified common notation is introduced to describe the involved equations, showing that the Mróz-Garud model can be regarded as a particular case of the NLK formulation. It is also shown that the classic two-surface model, which is an unconventional simplified plasticity model based on the translation of only two surfaces, can also be represented using this formulation. Such common notation allows a direct quantitative comparison among multi-surface, two-surface, and NLK hardening models.

Pressure vessels design methods using the codes, fracture mechanics and multiaxial fatigue
This paper gives a highlight about pressure vessel (PV) methods of design to initiate new engineers and new researchers to understand the basics and to have a summary about the knowhow of PV design. This understan...
A unified approach for static and dynamic fracture failure in solids and granular materials by a particle method
The material structure at the microscale reveals the particulate nature of solids. By exploiting the discrete aspect of materials, the so-called particle methods developed and applied to the simulation of solids a...
Analysis of the influence of the anisotropy induced by cold rolling on duplex and super-austenitic stainless steels
This report contains the results obtained from the mechanical characterization tests carried out on two different stainless steel (duplex 6%Ni, 22%Cr and super-austenitic 31%Ni, 28%Cr) used for the manufacturing of pipes...
Use of a gray level co-occurrence matrix to characterize duplex stainless steel phases microstructure
Duplex stainless steels are widely used in industry. This is due to their higher strength compared to austenitic steels and to their higher toughness than ferritic steels. They also have good weldability and high resista...
