PREVALENCE OF ABNORMALITIES IN THE FUNCTION OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINTS (TMJ) AMONGPATIENTS, WHO SOUGHT MEDICAL CARE IN A MULTI-FIELD DENTAL CLINIC. STUDY WAS CARRIED OUT FOR 7YEARS

Abstract
Within 7 years we have conducted survey of our patients who addressed for dental care in order to identify patients with temporomandibular joints dysfunction (TMJ). It was revealed: • from 6383 people, 25,37% (1619 patients) did not pay attention at existing temporomandibular joints dysfunction (TMJ) and was going to treat only dental pathology ( 15,7% with one symptom of abnormalities; 7,2% with two symptoms; 2,47% with three and more, that is with already expanded temporomandibular joints dysfunction (TMJ); • only 0,7% ( 48 patients from 6863 people) was applied for treatment of temporomandibular joints dysfunction (TMJ); • Identification of such patients will allow beginning early treatment and preventing the development of destructive process in temporomandibular joints.
