Remote Sensing: Essentials and Applications
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGY - Year 2013, Vol 4, Issue 8
Abstract
Remote sensing has been developed from earlier technologies such as surveying, photogrammetry, cartography, mathematics and statistics. In 1970s, first remote sensing satellite Landsat -1 was launched which provided continuous observation of Earth’s land areas. In early decades of 21st century, owing to internet availability, public access to remote sensed data was available when Google earth was first launched. Today, remote sensing has become a very sophisticated procedure to monitor Earth’s environment. This paper briefly covers the remote sensing basics, types of the methodologies adopted for the procedure and its applications. As a concluding remark, a history of Indian remote sensing is tabulated

Feature Extraction of ECG Signal Using HHT Algorithm
This paper describe the features extraction algorithm for electrocardiogram (ECG) signal using Huang Hilbert Transform and Wavelet Transform. ECG signal for an individual human being is different due to unique heart stru...
A Comparative Study of Histogram Equalization Techniques for Image Contrast Enhancement
The most significant outcome of image processing is a contrast enhancement. The most usual method of histogram equalization is used for mending contrast in digital images. Histogram equalization is so convenient and effi...
Low Power Fir Filter Design Using Truncated Multiplier
In this paper Low-cost finite impulse response(FIR) design are presented using the concept of faithfully rounded truncated multipliers. We jointly consider the effective of bit width and hardware resources without sacrif...
Analysis of PAPR in Precoded OFDM Systems for M-QAM
In Orthogonal Frequency Division multiplexing (OFDM) one of the main drawbacks is High peak to Average Power Ratio. So Reducing the PAPR will reduce the Complexity of Converters (such as Analog to Digital & D...
Review: Sparse Representation for Face Recognition Application
In recent years, signal processing has come under pressure to accommodate the increasingly high-dimensional data generated by modern sensing systems. In many cases these highdimensional signals contain relatively l...
