THE ELECTROCHEMICAL METHOD FOR OBTAINING THIN COVERINGS OFRHENIUM CHALCOGENIDES

Abstract

 This paper summarizes the publications in the last years. It analyzes more than 40 scientific papers on theproduction of rhenium chalcogenides by electrochemical method. A review using various electrochemicalmethods revealed the scientific basis of joint electrodeposition of rhenium with chalcogens patterns of differentelectrolytes and synthesized new semiconductor coating of rhenium chalcogenides. The electrolyte used sulfate,thiosulfate, chloride, borate, chloride and sulphate-alkaline solutions containing various concentrations of rheniumand chalcogen (S, Se, Te). Analysis of the results of measurements of cathode and anodic polarization curves forthe joint electrodeposition of rhenium with the chalcogen (S, Se, Te) has shown that the co-deposition process isaccompanied by depolarization, which proves the formation of a chemical compound or a solid solution based onthese compounds and determines potential range in which to cathode stoichiometric compound are formed. It hasbeen established that all of rhenium chalcogenides are semiconductor materials.
