The investigation of frictional coefficient for different cotton varieties
Journal Title: Applied Science Reports - Year 2013, Vol 3, Issue 2
Abstract
In order to study of frictional force and its effect on the yarn characteristic, an experiment was conducted on 11 cotton varieties. The inter fiber frictional force was measured in the sliver of eleven Varieties of cotton by means of new device (Static Friction Tester). These slivers were spun and their characteristics were measured. The results showed that the yarn strength was highly correlated to the coefficient of friction. The yarn irregularity had high positive correlation to the coefficient of friction. In the other hands, the fiber with more frictional coefficient produced more regular yarn.
