The new capital adequacy and liquidity standards and their role in reducing the risks associated with the financing of housing loans in Polish banks

Abstract
The paper presents the role of new capital adequacy and liquidity standards in reducing risks associated with the financing of housing loans. The impact of the new regulations was analysed in the context of the struc-tural problems of the Polish banking sector, which include, among others, mismatch of assets and liabilities. The main conclusion from the study is that the introduction of the new re-gulation will should reduce the risk associated with the financing of housing loans in Polish banks.
