THE PECULIARITY OF THE ORAL CAVITY DISORDERS IN CHILDREN WITH ENDOCRINE PATHOLOGY

Abstract

 The aim of this work was the study of oral disorders frequency and their specificity in children with endocrine pathology. The subject of the research were 371 children: 181 girls (48.8%) and 190 boys (51.3%). The most common endocrine diseases in this group of patients were: diabetes - 258 children (69.5%), obesity - 37 children (9.9%), thyroid pathology - 27 children (7.2% ), constitutional hypostature -24 children (6.4%), hypothalamic-pituitary pathology - 13 children (3.5%). Dental diseases were found more frequently in children with diabetes: gingivitis in 81% of cases, tooth decay in 74% of cases, oral mucosal lesions in 32% of cases, oral mucosal candidiasis in 9% of cases. Other endocrinopathies are accompanied by disorders of tooth eruption and formation, diseases of the tongue, gums, oral mucosa and salivary glands.
