The remuneration of managers in Polish and American banks: a comparative analysis

Abstract
It is understood that one of the sources of the financial crisis were too high remuneration of top management and inadequate structure of this remuneration in the years preceding the crisis. The Polish banking sector was not so badly affected by the crisis as were the banks in the US. The purpose of this paper is to compare the remuneration policy for managers in three Polish and three US banks during the three years preceding the crisis (2005–2007).
