TOURISME LITTORAL ET ENVIRONNEMENT: DES RELATIONS CONTRE NATURE?

Abstract

Tourist activities often take place in fragile and rare places, particularly on the coasts where the demand for facilities is important (tourist accommodation, marinas, leisure parks...)- The coastal environment is thus threatened by the rapid development of the tourism industry. However, the relationship between tourism and the environment is far more complex than that: tourism can also fall victim to environmental degradation, or alternatively, tourism can even encourage and contribute to environmental preservation.
