Weibull statistical analysis of tensile strength of vascular bundle in inner layer of moso bamboo culm in molecular parasitology and vector biology
Journal Title: Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 27, Issue 4
Abstract
Bamboo is a radial gradient variation composite material against parasitology and vector biology, but the vascular bundles in inner layer are evenly distributed. The objective is to determine the regular size pattern and Weibull statistical analysis of the vascular bundle tensile strength in inner layer of Moso bamboo. The size and shape of vascular bundles in inner layer are similar, with an average area about 0.1550 mm2. A statistical evaluation of the tensile strength of vascular bundle was conducted by means of Weibull statistics, the results show that the Weibull modulus m is 6.1121 and the accurate reliability assessment of vascular bundle is determined.

Antioxidant study of flavonoid derivatives from the aerial parts of Rhus natalensis growing in Saudi Arabia
Phytochemical study of the CH2Cl2 soluble fraction of the aerial parts of R. natalensis resulted in the isolation and identification of six flavonoid derivatives, -amyrin and -sitosterol glucoside (daucosterol)....
Estimation of out-of-pocket costs of patients at the methadone maintenance therapy clinic in Malaysia
Out-of-pocket (OOP) payments may burden Methadone Maintenance Clinic patients. Since treatment is fully subsidized by the government, financial constraint might lead to patients being made to pay or be given incent...
Dose-dependent effects of tryptophan on learning and memory
The concentration of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, Serotonin) varies as a result of physiological changes in the availability of its precursor tryptophan to the serotonergic neurons in the brain. Increase in brain try...
Phytochemical and antioxidant studies of Berberis lycium.
Six compounds have been isolated from methanolic and petroleum ether extracts of Berberis lycium (Barberry). Four out of six isolated compounds are reported for the first time from this plant. Purification of diffe...
Pharmacokinetics and bioavailability study of polydatin in rat plasma by using a LC–MS/MS method
To investigate the pharmacokinetic and bioavailability of polydatin (PD) in rats after oral and intravenous administration, a simple, rapid and sensitive liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectroscopy (LC-MS/MS) me...
