NEW PORCELAIN MATERIAL FOR THE MANUFACTURING ELECTROINSULATING PRODUCTS BY ISOSTATIC PRESSING METHOD

Abstract

Industry Technologies SA company is going to set in motion, at its factory in Lubsko, the modern manufacturing line of porcelain housings for high-voltage fuses. Instead of the classic technology based on extrusion of pipe fuse bodies from plastic porcelain mass, an innovative method using isostatic pressing was developed. For this purpose the high aluminous porcelain mass in the loose granules form was elaborated. The ceramic pipes isostaticly pressed from this mass in the pressure range of 400 – 700 bar are characterized by a high degree of densification and a good suitability for a mechanical treatment of a material in a green state. This isostatically pressed porcelain has a relatively low temperatures of sintering (1250 – 1300 °C). Sintered porcelain material is non-porous, with a high bulk density (2.79 g/cm3). It has very good mechanical strength (flexual strength 140 MPa) and a high electrical resistivity (5 X 1011 Ωm). The properties of this material meets the requirements of IEC 60 672 for aluminous porcelain high strength – type C 130. Currently, the works on the glaze selection and glaze spray technology are developed. The high-tech., authomatic production line for porcelain fuse bodies with high technical parameters is assembled.
