New Rapid Detection System for Formaldehyde Mass Concentration

Abstract

In order to quickly and accurately obtain the mass concentration of formaldehyde in measured gas,a new rapid detection system for formaldehyde mass concentration was designed based on spectral absorption characteristics. In accordance with the absorption spectrum distribution of formaldehyde,1 730 ~ 1 737 cm(- 1)was selected as band-pass filtering area for the narrowband filter. The effective optical path length was increased with the multiple reentry absorb gas chamber,and the detection accuracy of formaldehyde mass concentration was improved. The air in newly renovated house,furniture stores and closed office buildings were tested,and the experimental data were compared with the TT-PN-50 P formaldehyde detector. Experimental results show when the formaldehyde mass concentration is higher than 100 μg / m3,the test results are similar with the values from TT-PN-50 P formaldehyde detector,and the average error is less than 2%. When the formaldehyde mass concentration is less than 100 μg / m3,the test data are smaller than the values from TT-PN-50 P formaldehyde detector,and the average error increases,but it still meets the test requirements.
