Newest Ukrainian Literature: Genre-Style and Thematic Dominants

Abstract
The article shows the author’s position regarding the development of the modern literary process in Ukraine. Its genre-style features, thematic dominants, which were created by the post-colonial, post-Soviet era, have been found out. It is proved that the newest literature is called the most modern one, that is, those works that have been written since the abolition of censorship, from the time of Ukraine’s independence (1991) to the present day, although some fundamental changes in the development of domestic fiction have occurred during the perestroika period (1985-1889). It is proved that due to open freedom of creativity, pluralism of thoughts, communication between Ukrainian and foreign writers, expansion of cultural contacts and the exchange of experience, domestic fiction has gained new genre forms and stylistic features, the topics of previously forbidden problems by censorship (sexuality, famine, deviant behavior, comprehension of social problems and historical memory, etc.), the authors expanded the horizons of stylistic techniques (postmodernism, neo-vanguard, sensory-physiologism, appeal to collage, non-obscene vocabulary, mixed dialect), polyphonic (mixed) genres, styling, inter-textuality.
