NIKOLAEVSKIY TIKHONOVSKIY COMMUNITY OF ARMAVIR IN THE mid-1920s (ACCORDING TO ARCHIVAL MATERIALS)

Abstract
The article discusses the circumstances of the emergence in 1924 of the Nikolaevskiy (“tikhonovskiy”) community in Armavir. On the basis of the identified archival documents the confessional policy of the Soviet authorities in relation to the tikhonovsky movement in Armavir region is analyzed. The organizational aspects of the church life of Orthodox canonical communities in the mid-1920s are explored, and additions are made to the biographies of bishops Rafail (Gumilevsky), Innokenty (Lityaev), and priest Leonid Dmitrevsky. The conclusion about the prospects for the use of regional archive funds in research of Renewal schism in Kuban region is drawn.
