Abstract
The paper develops a critical argument against basic assumption contained in the theory of time acceleration and shared by such authors as T. H. Eriksen, P. Virilio, Z. Bauman, A. Giddens. The main thesis of time acceleration theories is that technological, industrial and scientific developments are the reasons for time acceleration which finally leads to its compression. The aim of the paper is to switch the discussion from time acceleration to structural evolution in the contemporary experience of time. In order to achieve this goal the article take advantage of categories of monochromic and polichronic temporal contexts
