Abstract
Evolution of the trolleybus transport occurs in many European cities. With the development of alternative sources of power (traction batteries, supercapacitors, diesel electric generators) trolleybuses become less dependent on the overhead line, and with the more cost-effective. Simultaneous development of electric buses and their associated operational problems tend to reflect on the use of the advantages of trolleybuses and electric buses making the solution more perfect. The article presents the Swedish experience in implementing innovative solutions on the border of trolleybuses and electric buses.
