Numerical Studies of the I-Beam Floor Beam of 4th Class of Section According to Eurocode 3
Journal Title: Металлические конструкции - Year 2017, Vol 23, Issue 1
Abstract
In the article numerical investigations of the beam of I-beam cross-section according to Eurocode 3 have been given: «Steel structures» [1]. The I-beam section beam is produced as an element of the general 4th class, in which the loss of local stability occurs before reaching the yield point in any one or more regions of the cross-section. To ensure the load-carrying capacity of the beam, the local stability of the wall, the load-bearing capacity of the wall on the shear were checked. The load-bearing capacity of the section was checked from the combined effect of shearing force, bending moment and axial force. Based on the calculation results, the metal capacities of the beams were determined depending on the height and wall thickness, as well as the pitch of the transverse stiffeners. Based on the obtained results, the optimum thickness and height of the beam wall and the required step of the transverse stiffeners have been determined. The analysis of the obtained values has been carried out and the main factors influencing the metal intensity of the beam of the 4th class have been determined.
