Numerical Study of the Effects of Suction and Pressure Gradient on an Unsteady MHD Fluid Flow between Two Parallel Plates in a Non-Darcy Porous Medium
Journal Title: Asian Research Journal of Mathematics - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 4
Abstract
The present problem discusses the unsteady MHD fluid flow of viscous incompressible fluid in between two parallel horizontal plates, upper being at rest and lower moving, in the presence of transverse magnetic field in a non Darcy (Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer) porous medium. These equations were solved numerically using explicit finite difference method. The fluid velocity with respect to the governing parameters are computed and presented graphically, and in tabular form using MATLAB.

Students’ Perception and Its Impact on Ghanaian Students’ Interest in Mathematics: Multivariate Statistical Analytical Approach
The study aims at addressing the effect of students’ perception and its impact on student interest in Mathematics using multivariate statistical techniques. One Thousand Two Hundred and Sixty Three (1263) students were d...
Properties and Applications of Some Algebraic Transformations from the Conditional Function
The intended purpose of this paper is to associate with a given function y = f(x) whose derivative admits one to three turning points an infinite number of other functions, called conditional functions (Cdf ),which are r...
Stability Analysis and Response Bounds of Gyroscopic Systems
In this work, we develop a stability theorem for determining the stability or otherwise of a gyroscopic system. A Lyapunov function is obtained by solving the arising Lyapunov matrix equation. The Lyapunov function is th...
Investor’s Power Utility Optimization with Consumption, Tax, Dividend and Transaction Cost under Constant Elasticity of Variance Model
This work considered an investor’s portfolio where consumption, taxes, transaction costs and dividends are in involved, under constant elasticity of variance (CEV). The stock price is assumed to be governed by a constant...
