Numerical Study on Ballistic Phenomena - Part Two
Journal Title: Analele Universitatii "Dunarea de Jos" din Galati. Fascicula IX, Metalurgie si Stiinta Materialelor - Year 2016, Vol 39, Issue 1
Abstract
The study of ballistic phenomena (interior ballistics, exterior ballistics and terminal ballistics) is an activity that involves the use of complex and at the same time very expensive equipment. Also, another aspect worth taking into account is the existence of risks when it comes to investigating the phenomena in this area. The use of numerical methods for making the pre-digital tests can be seen as a logical and inexpensive approach. Furthermore, besides these advantages, the simulations of various ballistic phenomena allow for an otherwise impossible observation of different sizes and details regarding the polygon tests. In the case studied in this paper, the numerical modelling of the phenomenon of the charge of water propulsion allows for, as an example, the average speed evaluation of the whole amount of water, while in the case of polygon tests only the speed of peak flow value may be shown. This paper is a numerical study on disrupting agent propulsion (internal ballistics), the speed water flow development and its distribution within the flow (the balancing kickback agent) being observed.

Determination of the Grinding Roller Grinding Arrow in a LBC Finisher
The required profile of the cylinders is achieved by their proper correction after the change due to wear. In this paper I studied how the profile of the working cylinders can influence the profile of hot rolled steel st...
Surface Hardening for Low Carbon Steel (A3k) by Yag: Nd Pulse Laser Thermal Activation
The paper is based on experiments for surface hardening on A3k (low carbon steel) samples using YAG:Nd pulse laser. A small x-y moving system conducted by PC was made for sample scanning, relative to fixed focused laser...
Analysis of the Performance Coefficient of the Energetical Recovery of the Domestic Waste
The paper critically analyses the way of defining the coefficient of performance of the systems used for the recovery of the energy of the domestic waste in cogeneration plants. The R1 criterion of performance of the Eur...
Policies for Economic Efficiency. Providing Utilities in Public Administration
The reality of the contemporary world has shown that there is an increasing interdependent power often turned into political pressure. Today, in Europe 25% of the imports of natural gas come from Russia. Therefore, reduc...
Predicting of Remaining Eutectic Carbide Content in W1.4855 Steel as Function of Carbon Content and Heat Treatment Parameters
The relationship between the carbon content of W1.4855 steel, and the parameters of heat treatment of solution quenching (maintaining time and maintaining temperature) is investigated. The obtained experimental data are...
