O Palmar de Tiburcio e os currais de Palmas

Abstract
The palm tree yard transplanted by Mr. Tiburcio Rocha in 1924 in Castillos Town – Uruguay covers approximately 1000 square meters on the field area. Butia capitata palm tree which forms this small wood is extremely important to analyze other palm tree anthropogenic yards, mainly those palm horse-holds built probably in the eighteenth century. Horse-holds are located from the Mirim Lagoon, in Santa Vitória do Palmar, Brazil, until the Negra Lagoon in the southeast of Uruguay. This phenomenon may be observed in many pluvial lakes of both countries.
