Abstract
The article is a review of “Dickens in Poland. The First Century” (“Dickens w Polsce. Pierwsze stulecie”, Kraków 2015) by Aleksandra Budrewicz, an outstanding study of the English writer’s reception in Polish culture between 1839 and 1939, based on extensive journalistic material, personal documents, and literature.
