Obraz przestępcy w prozie Sergiusza Piaseckiego

Abstract
Sergiusz Piasecki (1901–1964) był pisarzem, przestępcą, przemytnikiem, agentem wywiadu, wieloletnim więźniem. Piasecki jest interesujący dla kryminologii ze względu na dwudziestoletnie osobiste doświadczenia kryminalne, które stały się inspiracją do refleksji nad przyczynami przestępczości. Celem pisarza, wielokrotnie zresztą podkreślanym, była chęć przekazania społeczeństwu wiedzy dotyczącej przestępców. Charakterystyczne dla Piaseckiego jest również zestawianie przestępców i ludzi „mechanicznie uczciwych”. Piasecki przełamuje pozytywistyczny podział społeczeństwa na przestępców i porządnych ludzi. Niektóre przedstawiane przez pisarza historie są niemal ilustracjami teorii kryminologicznych. Historia literatury zna wielu pisarzy, których utwory powstały w oparciu o introspekcję autora. Taką wiedzę o człowieku przestępcy artykułuje szczególnie proza realistyczna. Literatura piękna odgrywa w tym kontekście rolę szczególną, zwłaszcza jeśli autor, historia jego życia i sumienny przekaz mogą pomóc w wyjaśnieniu, zrozumieniu oceny fenomenów stanowiących przedmiot badań w kryminologii.<br><br/><br/><br/><br/> Sergiusz Piasecki (1901–1964) was a writer, criminal, smuggler, spy and secret agent of the Second Division of the General Staff, a long-term prisoner. Twenty years of personal experiences in crime-related field that furthermore inspired reflection on the reasons of crime made him interested in criminology. The goal of the writer, one that he frequently emphasised, was the eagerness to share his knowledge on criminals with the society. He also paid special attention to life’s circumstances that can “make” anyone a criminal. It is also characteristic of Piasecki to juxtapose criminals against people who are “mechanically” honest. In examining the writer’s views on crime, such a ploy demolishes the positivist division of the society into criminals and decent people. Some stories presented by him are quite precise illustrations of theories in the crime sciences. The history of literature knows many writers whose works are based on the introspection of their respective authors. Such knowledge of the human/criminal is especially well articulated in realistic prose. Certainly, the belles lettres play a special role in this context especially if by the virtue of his or her vicissitudes of life and thoughts the author can convey information helpful in explaining and understanding the assessment of the phenomena investigated by criminal sciences.
