Abstract
The article analyzes the stages of formation and professionalization of folk choral performance in the context of the activity of the Okhmatov folk choir under the direction of P. Demutsky. The process of transition of singing groups to choral performance is traced. The peculiarities of the organization and functioning of the Okhmatov folk choir are analyzed and scientifically comprehended.
