On launching a new journal 'Perioperative Precision Medicine': a rapidly evolving discipline
Journal Title: Perioperative Precision Medicine - Year 2023, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
Anesthesia is indispensable for most types of surgery and a key factor to ensure the safety and to improve the prognosis of patients. With the rapid development of science and technology and the persistent enhancement of anesthesiology expertise, it is no longer sufficient to put a singular emphasis on anesthesia during surgery. Anesthesiology is now evolving towards perioperative medicine, which involves patient-centered care and value-based multidisci-plinary management of surgical patients in the perioperative period.

Role of intravenous iron therapy for management of perioperative anaemia: A narrative review
Anaemia is a frequent problem in surgical patients, and the commonest cause is iron deficiency. There is no agreement among perioperative clinicians on the utility of intravenous (IV) iron therapy in surgical patients. I...
Progress of end-tidal carbon dioxide monitoring in non-intubated patients
End-tidal carbon dioxide (ETCO2) monitoring is an important tool for assessing respiratory and circulatory status of patients. It has become an integral component of perioperative anesthesia care in patients undergoing g...
Progress of ultrasound-guided nerve block in foot and ankle arthroscopy
Foot and ankle arthroscopy frequently results in severe perioperative swelling and pain. The ultrasound-guided nerve block technique stands out for its ability to offer reliable and potent pain relief. This technique not...
