ON THE GENERALIZED GAMMA-GENERATED DISTRIBUTIONS AND APPLICATIONS
Journal Title: Journal of Ramanujan Society of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences - Year 2017, Vol 6, Issue 1
Abstract
In this paper, we propose two new generalized gamma-generated distributions with any base distribution. In particular, we obtain the generalized gamma-generated exponential Weibull distribution (GG-EW) and generalized gamma- generated Dagum distribution (GG-Dagum). We study some mathematical properties of the new distributions, including explicit formulas for the probability density function, cumulative distribution function, by using Gauss' hypergeometric and Meijer G functions. It is shown, in general, that the generalized gamma-generated distributions are infinite linear combinations of the powers of the base distribution. Incorrect results given earlier by other authors are pointed out. We applied the distributions in the following data sets: (a) spending on public education in various countries in 2003 and (b) total expenditure on health in 2009 in various countries. The results show that the distributions t well the data sets. The general R codes for fitting the distributions introduced in this paper are given in Appendix.

HIERARCHIES OF PALINDROMIC SEQUENCES IN THE SYMMETRIC GROUP Sn
A new property of the Symmetric group, Sn, arises when each element is assigned a unique place value, which enables the ordering of the elements (nu- merically). It is shown that the dierences between successive element...
A VARIANT OF THE TYPE-1 BETA AND DIRICHLET INTEGRALS
A double integral, which can be taken as an extension of a type-1 beta integral, is introduced and its properties are studied. Than a $k$-variate multiple integral on a unit cube in Euclidean $k$-space is introduced, whi...
ON CERTAIN TRANSFORMATIONS OF BASIC HYPERGEOMETRIC FUNCTIONS USING BAILEY'S TRANSFORM
In this paper, making use of Bailey transform and certain known sum- mation formulas, we have established certain interesting transformation formulas of basic hypergeometric series.
CERTAIN CLASS OF EULERIAN INTEGRALS WITH THE MULTIVARIABLE I-FUNCTION DEFINED BY NAMBISAN
In this paper, rst we evaluate a class of MacRobert's integral associ- ated with the multivariable I-function dened by Nambisan et al [3], secondly we evaluate a class of MacRobert's with. the generalized incomplete hy...
TRANSFER MATRIX METHOD FOR ONE-DIMENSIONAL PHOTONIC CRYSTALS
Theory of photonic crystals includes an extensive study of electromagnetism and optics in conjunction with solid state physics. Many things have been known for over a century and I want to explore how the calculation on...
