ON THE LINEARIZATION OF EXPERIMENTAL HYSTERETIC LOOPS
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2010, Vol 55, Issue 1
Abstract
In this paper is presented a linearization method developed on the basis of the experimental hysteresis loop, by considering the most general case, when there is no mathematical model associated with the hysteretic behavior. The parameters of linear model are determined for a predicted dominant frequency component in the response spectrum of the mechanical structure equipped by the studied hysteretic device. The performances of proposed method are illustrated on the basis of an experimental loop corresponding to a seismic protection device which is used in base isolation of buildings.

INFLUENCE OF BOUNDARY CONDITION ON CHANNEL SECTION COLUMN BEHAVIOUR
The FEM-based, numerical study of the influence of the boundary conditions on distorsional lateral buckling phenomena during bending of cold formed steel bars with different channel sections have been performed. Beams wi...
DD3IMP, 3D FULLY IMPLICIT FINITE ELEMENT SOLVER: IMPLEMENTATION OF CB2001 YIELD CRITERION
The strategies and algorithms adopted in the fully implicit FE solver DD3IMP to model the orthotropic behavior of metallic sheets, as well the procedure for parameters’ identification, are the main focus of this work; a...
LIMIT STRAINS VARIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO MATERIAL SCATTER
In this paper a study regarding to the effect of the variability of the mechanical parameters on the prediction of the limit strain have been presented. The necking criterion used in the analyses is the one proposed by M...
TRAJECTORY PLANNING OF A PENDULUM-DRIVEN UNDERACTUATED CAR
The control problem of the pendulum-driven cart has been well studied in several literatures. The challenge issue of control of such underactuated systems is to control the motions of the pendulum and the cart by applyin...
NON-LINEAR STABILITY OF CYLINDRICAL PANELS MADE OF TRANSVERSALLY FUNCTIONALLY GRADED MATERIAL WITH UNIFORMLY SHORTENED EDGES
The present paper deals with FGM cylindrical panels with uniformly shortened edges when the shear lag phenomenon and distortional deformations are taken into account. A shell model (2D) was adopted. A method of the modal...
