Journal Title: Українознавство - Year 2016, Vol 1, Issue 58
Abstract
The article analyzes the question of the original semantics of the ancient names of the Black and Azov Seas. The author is convinced that a deeper attention to the semantic aspects of studying ancient onomastics will not only increase the importance of scientific etymological constructions, but will also contribute to a better understanding of general ethnocultural processes of the studied period of history.
