Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Surgery - Year 2017, Vol 3, Issue 1
Abstract
The outcome of 600 consecutive patients with inguinal hernia repaired by the open tension free mesh technique at the IIMS and R Medical College Warudi, Jalna was assessing three years after operation. There was one recurrence and no major other complications. The wound infection rate was 0.8%, less than 10% patients had only minor complaints and 95% patients were satisfied with the operation and its outcome. Low recurrence rate between 1 to 3 years imply low long term recurrence and testify to the benefits of a specialists approach.
