Abstract
Mostofthestudiesone-commercehavefocusedonadvancedeconomieswhilenoattemptseemstohavebeenmadetoexaminetheoperationalaspectsofe-commerceinadevelopingeconomy.Thepresentstudyattemptstoidentifysomeoftheoperationalaspectsofe-commerceinthemanufacturingsectorofIndia.Apre-structuredquestionnairehasbeenusedtocollectinformationfrom90largemanufacturing firms in India. It has been observed that almost all firms use computer networks forvariousactivities.MostofthemutilizethesenetworksforB2BandB2Ctransactions.Therearecertainissuessuchascost,speed,connectivity,securityandinvestmentthatneedtobeaddressedto exploitthefullpotentialofe-commerceinIndia.
