Journal Title: Наука і освіта - Year 2016, Vol 0, Issue 8
Abstract
In the recent years, an alarming situation has arisen in Ukraine because of health and physical fitness deterioration in the younger generation, particularly students. As noted by teachers, psychologists, doctors, hygienists and psycholo- gists, natural motor activity of students of higher educational institutions has been steadily declining. The educational process intensification increases the level of mental workload, which affects the nervous emotional sphere of students. It is known that one of the most effective means of solving this problem is to encourage students to be engaged in phys- ical training and sports. The aim of the paper is to propose the approach to optimization of students’ motion activity by means of racewalking. Research methods: 1) theoretical review of psychological and pedagogical literature; 2) studying and generalizing pedagogical experience; 3) questionnaire and testing. According to the questionnaire, most of the stu- dents have demonstrated positive attitude towards racewalking as long as they consider it as a means of health support and improvement. In addition, most of them consider it necessary to walk regularly. Improvement of students’ achievements in racewalking is facilitated by improvement of the dynamics of training load, training methods and con- trol over the training process; the use of additional means for training and recovery process activation; improvement of organizational, material and technical recourses of the training process. The proposed exercises of healthy racewalking are available for doing at physical education classes at higher educational institutions. Taking into account students’ positive attitude towards racewalking, these exercises provide health-care effect on student’s body at the same time being an efficient means of educational process optimization
