Optimization of the composition and structure of light concretes modified by organic-silica additive

Abstract

One of the options for modern efficient high-rise building is lowering the mass of buildings, which continues to remain relevant, especially in modern conditions, due to widespread usage of the cast-in-situ structures, which lead to the increased mass, and it doesn’t give possibility to use all the advantages of this technology. The practical way to solve this problem is to develop and use high-strength lightweight concrete, especially expanded clay concretes. The article presents the results of optimization of the composition and structure of lightweight concretes and the physical and mechanical properties of expanded clay lightweight concrete, based on Portland cement, modified with a complex organic-silica additive. It was found that the introduction of a complex additive to the mix provides uniform strength rising of expanded clay concretes at all stages of hardening, increases water resistance, frost resistance, the coefficients of corrosion resistance, which positively affects the durability of expanded clay lightweight concretes.
