OPTIMIZATION OF THE MODE OF THE START OF THE MECHANISM OF THE TURN-BASED CRANE UNDER THE CRITERIA OF THE MIDDLE-CURVED VALUE OF THE ELASTIC MOMENT IN THE DRIVER

Abstract

Purpose. The article is devoted to the optimization of the starting mode of the jib-crane slewing mechanism up-on criterion of the root-mean-square value of the elastic torque in the drive. It has been found out, on the basis of the constructed dynamic mathematical model of the slewing-mechanism motion, that considerable dynamic loads occur in the elements of the drive during transient modes. The optimization of the starting process of the tower-crane slewing mechanism has been carried out to minimize them. Methodology. The way represented in the research of the minimization of variations shows how the set problem is solved by the methods of the calcu-lus of variations. Findings. The characteristic curves, which describe the essence of the optimal law of motion, are the solution of the problem; in other words, exerting torques and forces so that the loads in the drive can be minimum, Originality/value which, in turn, is going to enhance the productivity and reliability of the slewing mechanism and the crane structure in general. Value. The results obtained in this investigation may be used fur-ther in order to improve and to define more exactly engineering’s methods for calculating the turning of cranes in transition mode of operation (starting, braking) at the stages of project/design and at the stage of real operation as well.
