Optimization Speed Control of DC Separately Excited Motor Using Tuning Controller of Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) Technique
Journal Title: INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF ENGINEERING TRENDS AND TECHNOLOGY - Year 2014, Vol 9, Issue 10
Abstract
The tuning of Linear Quadratic regulator (LQR) controllers is a challenge for researchers and plant operators. This paper presents a optimization and comparison of time response specification between Traditional ZN Tuning & Modified ZN Tuning controllers with Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) for a speed control of a separately excited DC motor. The goal is to determine which control strategy delivers better performance with respect to DC motor’s speed. Both these method are compared on the basis of output response, less rise time, less setting time and less over shoot for speed demand of DC motor.
