Abstract

This paper outlines the operation of the Chieftaincy of Ordnance and Electronics Service (OES) in the Polish Armed Forces since 1918 when the first section performing the tasks of ordnance service was established. The first part of the paper describes the tasks the structures dealt with before the ordnance service appeared and widely characterizes functions and assignments of the service in interwar period and after the WWII. The meaning and responsibility of the ordnance service for providing utilization, repairing, servicing, storing and procurement is presented. The most important tasks of the Chieftaincy for development of regulations concerning the use of equipment by the Polish Armed Forces are also included with some examples of developed instructions. Second part presents the most significant rules for the use of ordnance and electronic equipment resulting from new logistic doctrines and the “Catalogue of Utilization Resources Rates for Land Equipment” introduced into the Polish Armed Forces.<br/><br/>
