ORGANIZATIONAL AND ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES OF INCREASING THE EFFICIENCY OF PIG PRODUCTION AT AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES OF UKRAINE

Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the article is the development of practical recommendations for improving the efficiency of pig production at agricultural enterprises. Methodology of research. The following methods and techniques are used for the realization of the tasks set in the work: monographic, statistical groupings, correlation-regression analysis and graphic – for a comprehensive study of the current state of agricultural production, assessment of organizational and economic conditions for the production of pig production by agricultural enterprises, and identification of factors affecting efficiency activities; selective – for a detailed survey of agricultural producers of pig production; grouping – to determine the impact of various factors on the level of efficiency of production of pig products, comparisons – to compare economic phenomena in different time periods in order to identify the causal link. Findings. It is established that in 2016, the production of pig products at agricultural enterprises is loss-making, despite the growth of natural production rates. It is determined that the important reason for loss making is the disparity of prices for input resources and production of farms of the corporate sector of the agrarian economy – producers of pig products. A rather important factor influencing the deterioration of the financial results of pig production is the imperfect system of state support for this category of agricultural producers. Originality. The mechanism of state support of agricultural enterprises – producers of pig breeding products is proposed for the purpose of creating favorable conditions for the functioning of pig breeding in small, medium and large farms of the corporate sector of the agrarian economy. The expediency of developing state support instruments based on the distinguished three categories of commodity producers is substantiated: enterprises that carry out industrial production – the general tax regime; the rest of the agricultural enterprises – a special regime. Practical value. It is established that the main factor of the loss-making effect of pig production at agricultural enterprises – producers of pig products is a decrease in the level of procurement prices owing to the over-saturation of the domestic market. It is revealed that this reason is caused by a decrease in the export of pig slaughter products, which led to the over-saturation of the domestic market in the face of declining purchasing power of the population – as the main consumer of products. It is proved that this circumstance creates a threatening situation for small agricultural enterprises – producers of pig products. It is determined that not only producers and processors, but also representatives of relevant state bodies, should look for new markets. It is established that Georgia and other countries of the world are a promising market.
